With the Gold release, Taikodom sets out an evolution of the free-to-play model, operating with a mix of paid items with an optional monthly payment, allowing users to play it for free, or pay for extra benefits. The second monetary currency in Taikodom is called Hoplon (H$). With hoplons players can acquire taels (the common currency in the game) special items and ships.
